Menara Hap Seng is a place I often visit when I’m in town for work as it’s right opposite the Tapay office. I like the upstairs dining area where there are plenty of lunch options to choose from. Upon one of my visits recently I noticed a newly opened café, Sol 28. They also happen to be one of Tapay’s newest merchants so I decided to check them out. I had just had lunch so I was only there for a light snack and a coffee.
Besides coffee, Sol 28 also serves hot meals like pasta and warm sandwiches.
Sol 28’s menu. Some items are not listed on the board so do ask the waiters for recommendations.
Sol 28 also has quite a wide selection of cakes for those looking to end their meals on a sweet note. This is the chocolate Brownie.
The salted egg croissant we had was delicious. It was served to us nice and warm, and was crispy and flaky on the outside with a gooey centre. We were both very impressed with this.
I had the Bicerin which came highly recommended by the owner. This was a richer, more chocolatey version of a café mocha, which I found delicious.
My friend ordered a Macha Latte (RM 10)
Our orders for the day. We saw that they had salted egg croissants so I just had to have one. Despite my heavy lunch, I had to give this a go because I can never say no to anything with salted egg!
The set lunch menu at Sol 28.
It’s a nice cozy place to have a work meeting or a get together with a friend.
I will definitely be back soon – with an empty stomach, to try more of the items on the menu!
